When Jess, a sweet-natured dog, darted into the road one afternoon, her life changed in an instant. Struck by a car, she was rushed to our clinic unable to walk on her own.

After multiple radiographs on Jess’s leg, the team realised that her leg was badly fractured, with multiple breaks and significant soft tissue damage. Sadly, the injuries were too extensive for repair.

After carefully discussing her options with her owners, we made the difficult—but life changing—decision to amputate her damaged leg.

The surgery went smoothly, and Jess amazed us with her resilience.

Today, Jess is thriving. She’s adjusted beautifully to life on three legs—tail wagging and snuggling just like before.

Jess’s story is a reminder that animals can overcome incredible odds with the right care, compassion, and support. While no pet owner ever wants to face such a situation, amputation can be a lifesaving, pain-relieving option that gives pets like Jess a whole new lease on life.

We’re proud to have been part of her journey—and grateful to share her story as a testament to strength, healing, and the unbreakable bond between pets and the people who love them.
